OPTIMIZATION FOR INJECTION
There are key variations
between the planning blueprints for engineered plastic as compared to metal,
due to the different technologies involved.
Shaar Giora can help you create blueprints from the initial
stage or change existing plans, in order to adapt them to the requirements of
the plastic injection production process. In the past, when we have been asked to
produce a plastic part with a design based on metal, the result has been a more
complicated and costly injection mold.
Without compromising standards or
requirements, our engineers and development teams can help you save the costs
of both injection mold preparation and production by improving product design
and adapting the blueprint to the injection process.
We will also advise on the choice of raw
material and co-operation with suppliers as well as the correct additives. Our
close involvement in all aspects of product planning and development as well as
in blueprints and design ensures that working together we will find the best
solutions for your product.
MOLD DEVELOPMENT AND PRODUCTION
Once we have agreed on a
component’s design and material, the next step is the planning and production
of the mold that the material will be injected into. Each injection mold is
unique and determines the suitability of the component.
Exact planning for the mold is
required dependent on component size, quality of raw material and the material
being injected. The more complex the component, the more complex the mold. Our
overriding concern is to provide the perfect
plastic injection mold for your component whilst keeping final production costs
as low as possible.
INJECTION
This is a process which
requires skill and judgement. Our technical staff at Shaar Giora take
great care in mixing raw material and additives, drying and heating and
injection and extraction of the components, efficiently and effectively.
FINISHING OFF
The injection process is vital
but it’s not the end of the story. After that comes secondary processing:
cleaning and removing remains of the raw material, followed by any additional
changes required. These could include sand spraying, linking the component to
another, painting, inserting rigid metal and further drilling or machining of
the plastic component.
